Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge → National Waterways Museum via turn at Old Quay Sunday 12th July 2026 | 13:00 – 17:00
Set Sail on this scenic four-hour cruise and experience the best of both industrial heritage and serene countryside. Departing from the 1926 built Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge , our cruise takes you along the final leg of the Weaver Navigation and into Marsh Lock, from which we will join the Manchester Ship Canal and cruise along the waterway to Old Quay in Runcorn, where the Danny once worked. Along the way, we’ll pass Weston Docks, still used today by coaster traffic, the iconic Runcorn Railway Bridge and Viaduct opened in 1868, and the Silver Jubilee Road Bridge - a 1961 replacement for the old transporter bridge.
Turning at Old Quay, we’ll head along the Manchester Ship Canal down to Eastham Locks where we will turn and head back to our berth at The National Waterways Museum at Ellesemere Port. .
Easy transport :
We recommend parking at the National Waterways Museum car park, which is free of charge. Easily accessible by train, with a nearby station and our coach will collect you at 12:00 to transport you to The Danny at Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge. That way your car is waiting for you at the end of the cruise, or you are handy for the station.
