Canning Dock, Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool – Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge 10th August 2025 1200 – 1800 hrs.
This six-hour cruise starts within the Royal Albert Dock complex where we will be moored in Canning Dock. We'll enter the River Mersey via Canning Half-tide entrance and you can sit back and take in the lovely Wirral and Liverpool Waterfronts whilst enjoying the sensory delights of a steamship! A commentary will be provided by Captain Dan Cross, the founder and driving force behind the restoration of The Danny. We will pass the Cammell Laird shipyard and the Tranmere Oil terminal during our cruise before entering the Manchester Ship Canal via Eastham Lock, we’ll pass where the Shropshire Union Canal joins the Manchester Ship Canal at what is now the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port. A bit further on we will join the Weaver Navigation at Marsh Lock before finishing our cruise at our berth at the Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge, where our coach will collect you and return you to Royal Albert Dock.
There is plenty of parking in and around the Royal Albert Dock, and there are also excellent public transport connections, with the nearest underground rail station being Liverpool James Street.
